Tool Joint Build-up
This is an industry accepted procedure to prolong the
service life of drill pipe and heavy weight drill pipe.
A tool joint build-up by Stable Services will yield
a connection with the same OD, seal face and bevel
diameter as a new tool joint.
Tool Joint Hard-banding
Hard-banding to drill pipe, heavy weight drill pipe
and drill collars is applied by automatic Gas Metal
Arc Welding
(GMAW).
Hard-facing
Stable Services specialises in hard-facing of stabilisers
and other speciality tools. The type of hard-facing
applied to drilling equipment has to be carefully
chosen according
to the drilling parameters and the drilling formation.
Stable Services offers a range to suit all drilling
conditions.
Stub Welding (Low Alloy Carbon Steel)
When drill stem members, such as drill collars,
hole openers and other specialty tools become
short, box
weak from OD wear or pin weak through ID wear,
they can be
put back into service using this process, often
referred to as “stubbing”. Stable
Services is the industry leader in stub welding
new material to existing
worn tools thereby cost effectively restoring
the physical dimension back to the acceptable
requirements.
Stub Welding (Non-magnetic Materials)
As above, non-magnetic drill string components
can also be stub welded.
Stable Services uses a semi automatic welding
process. This process has
been approved to NS-1.
Heat Treatment
Specially designed electric thermally controlled
ovens are used to ensure controlled pre-heat,
interpass and
post-weld heat treatment. |
