The WedgeTail range of reamers
incorporate a number of innovations that give the tools
a longer operational life and at the same time are
more user-friendly.
• The
body of the tool has a stress relief area in the middle
of the cutter pocket which
allows better cutter
flushing and has less of a tendency to ball.
• The
engineering forces (when the cutters are installed)
on the body run longitudinally and not radially, which
reduces the likelihood of the cutter pockets being
forced open and cracking.
• The
grease used in the cutters is a synthetic type which
can be exposed to temperatures of 260-280°C
before it is likely to begin to breakdown.
• The
positioning of the carbide buttons in the cutters ensures
that every button covers itself, ensuring the
cutters ream along its full length.
• The
cutter assembly is made up of ONE piece – tool
can be redressed in either the horizontal or the vertical
position.
